I have been lucky enough to spend every summer since age three on the beaches of Maine. That comes out to some 40+ years. My place on the beaches of Biddeford has been in the family since 1956. The memories are vivid as if they just happened yesterday. Most of my friends played house with dolls and tea cups and the like. While I played Queen of the Bay with my life long friends! Rocks became potatoes as part of our pretend supper. Seaweed was spaghetti and green algae was of course our vegetable de jour!! We swam almost every day and turned brown as berries. I always lost weight from climbing rocks and playing hide and seek! Even now I tell these stories to friends and family. I love Maine and will retire there sometime. Keep the stories about Maine going, it is a great place to spend summers as a child or vacationing as an adult!
