Replacement of trunked State radios: If the state already has some P25 radios that are trunking capable, why are these also scheduled for replacement under the contract with the system integrator (Harris Corporation)?
The required number of radios specified in the system RFP (request for proposal) was based on the state’s current inventory to ensure an even contract bid by competing vendors. The total number was not related to the technology of each radio. OIT plans to re-use those radios when appropriate.
