Installation of local equipment on MSCommNet towers. What is the difference between (1) being just an MSCommNet partner/user and (2) a local partner installing local equipment on the states MSCommNet towers?
There is no monthly cost for a local partner who has no equipment collocated on an MSCommNet site. The project does build excess capacity at each of the sites to potentially house equipment from local emergency responders once the project is completed. If interested, and the capacity does exist, the State will work mutually with the local agency through a process including: a structural analysis, an inter-modulation study, and a site access document. The State will assess a monthly rate for housing the equipment and antenna to cover costs associated with use of the site infrastructure (power, site lease, road maintenance etc.).
