We’ve been interoperating for a long time, so why are we changing?Radio-to-radio communications are not affected by the new MSCommNet system. The notable change is the ability for local users to monitor the MSP primary channel. Local partners will retain the ability to monitor MSP communications on a primary trunked channel following implementation of one or more of the following methods. Selection of a method will be based upon operational, geographical and technical criteria. A. MSP primary audio transmitted on RegionNet or another designated national interoperability channel. B. MSP audio transmitted to a local non-State channel. C. Direct dispatch access by installation of a P25 trunked capable control station at the local dispatch center. This would allow a dispatcher to have access to the MSP primary channel D. Direct mobile/portable access by installation of a P25 mobile or portable capable of trunked operation. |
