Changes to state towers: Why is the state constructing, replacing, or upgrading towers?
Under the MSCommNet project, the State is building only two new towers to support the microwave (backbone) system. Thirteen towers will be replaced, not including towers that Customs and Border Protection (radio upgrade project) are building on which the state may collocate MSCommNet equipment. Towers that are not structurally sound or have inadequate capacity to accommodate all the required antennas will be replaced to meet the same standards as other towers within the infrastructure.
