Featured in the 2011 MLTI Ubersession, the Bates College Museum of Art's Thousand Words Project (TWP) is a vital resource for teachers interested in interdisciplinary approaches to teaching Common Core material and creating Mass Customized Learning options. TWP's instructional framework motivates students by providing step-by-step skill-building exercises which enrich curriculums in Language Arts and other disciplines.
Even initially doubting teachers who have worked with TWP agree that the project opened their eyes to new ways of seeing and teaching. This training workshop will guide teachers through the exercises and provide them with extensive information given about $500 grants the Museum offers to Androscoggin County teachers to develop new TWP units in all subjects.
