MLTI III
As you know, there are a variety of things going on related to MLTI III and we have found that many of them require a lot of correspondence and coordination. Please spread the word.
Contact Info
Many of you have new email addresses as a result of consolidation. Unfortunately, the addresses in the Asset Manager, and submitted by your districts to us as Deployment Contacts, are now failing. If you haven't heard from us, that may be the problem. Please check the Asset Manager (http://assets.mlti.org)- the same login name and password you used last year should still work – if your school was a middle school and high school last year (i.e., same MEDMS School Code) you should use the Middle School login) and verify that your contact info for Tech Lead, Teacher Leader, and Principal are correct. If they are not correct, please email the corrections to Laura Brown, laura.brown@maine.gov. Please also verify your school address, district name, and superintendent.
Passwords
For information on Passwords, ARD, DOAs, Spares, etc. please see the latest Tech News, which is posted on the Asset Manager home page (http://tinyurl.com/luxl4v). More valuable resources for tech leads are available at the AppleCare Support web site for MLTI: http://www.info.apple.com/mlti/.
Spares
We did not pre-assign spares. Instead, we emailed the Deployment Contacts a number that represents the total number of spares you should have at your school. You were asked to choose that many devices, and tell us which ones they were. We will then adjust the records in the Asset Manager. This way, you don't have to search through hundreds of laptops for a specific asset, you can simply choose which ones you would like to be your spares.
If you don't tell us which Spares you want to assign by September 1, 2009, we will assign them for you. Please visit: http://maine.gov/mlti/deployment/ and follow the link to the MLTI III Spare Device Survey. If you do not know how many spares you are supposed to have, please email Laura Brown at laura.brown@maine.gov.
Buyout Information
A few schools have yet to respond to us regarding your intention to buy or return the iBooks or MacBooks deployed in the last round. This is delaying our payment schedules and surplus pickup schedules. PLEASE make sure that your school has responded to us. The forms for the buyout are still downloadable at: http://www.mlti.org/buyout. The Middle School packet should be used for iBook G4’s and the High School packet should be used for the 2007 MacBooks.
We have still not received the Round 1 Buyout forms from:

Collection of MLTI II Devices
State Surplus is working to contact the schools that have MLTI II inventories ready for collection. If you have not yet been contacted, someone from State Surplus will be in touch soon. Please be prepared for the collection by reviewing your inventory and keeping all laptops, bags and chargers in a secure location until State Surplus comes to collect them.
