What is ACCUPLACER?
From the College Board website: "ACCUPLACER is a suite of tests that quickly, accurately, and efficiently assess reading, writing, math, and computer skills. ACCUPLACER is a computer-adaptive testing program delivered over the Internet. Internet delivery means that an institution can administer quality assessments to many students simultaneously at an affordable price, but without the attendant difficulties of installing and upgrading software (especially in networked environments.) Individual student score reports are available immediately after testing."

Why should I care?
The MDOE is in the process of providing greater student access to the ACCUPLACER program in the following two ways: by offering free ACCUPLACER testing to students in their Junior year who have not opted for the free PSAT/NMSQT and also by making easily available the process of certifying any Maine high school or CTE center as an ACCUPLACER testing facility.

Keith Henry, Senior Assessment Manager for the College Board’s ACCUPLACER Program, has scheduled three dates at which he will present a customized webinar detailing the options referenced above.
