Gale/MLTI eBook Offer for All Maine Schools serving 6-12th Grade

Dear MLTI Schools,
Last spring MLTI/DOE partnered with Gale Cengage to offer the special pricing on the Gale Virtual Reference Library. Gale has agreed to let us re-open the offer this fall, starting October 1st, with no minimum purchase this time. The pricing is the same and there is still a 3-year payment plan option. We hope that lots of the smaller schools will be able to take advantage of the $15 per pupil - it is a good deal!!
MLTI and the Maine Department of Education have once again partnered with Gale, a part of Cengage Learning, to offer special pricing for a core eBook collection for Maine schools that will support all areas of the 6-12 curriculum. This offer is open from October 1- November 30, 2012.
These collections are available to schools in Maine for a price of $15 per student (with a maximum total single campus price of $9995 for a High School, and $4995 for a Middle School). This per pupil pricing allows even small schools affordable access to these titles, and the cost may be spread over 3 years. The High School collection includes 278 titles in 971 volumes and is a $120,000 value; the Middle School collection of 100 titles in over 452 volumes is a $37,000 value.
This product offers unlimited, simultaneous use - you can actually have a whole class using the same title at once. There are print, email, citation, and download features. Titles can be read online or downloaded as pdf to a reader or as mp3.
This is a one-time ebook purchase; they become part of your library collection. The only continuing cost is a $50/year hosting fee that covers your web access to the titles and the support. Titles and a virtual tour are available here.
