Asset Manager Downtime, 9/22/10

Published:September 21, 2010

The MLTI Asset Manager will be offline between 6 AM and 7 AM Wednesday morning, Sept 22, 2010. During this maintenance window, we will be implementing the ability to transfer teachers and students from one MLTI school to another MLTI school, using the Collaboration User Admin module. Additionally, we'll be resolving the issue where the grade year is not populating correctly after a student's account has been created in the Asset Manager.

Here are some details concerning the Teacher/Student movement between schools within the Collaboration User Admin Module.

For Teacher and Student moves between Schools listed in the Asset Manager:
- The Bulk User Update link includes the ability to bulk transfer and bulk delete users. Please note: deleting users deletes the users with no way to recover the deleted users.
- The Bulk User Transfer Request link allows one to select a list of teachers/students to be transferred to another school.
- To transfer a single user, click on the detail of the user, fill in the details, and select Request Transfer at the bottom of the page.
- Like device transfers, emails will be generated once the transfer request is initiated.

The school to which the teacher/student is being transferred will have to accept the transfer (like we do with devices) before the user will show up in your collaboration user module.

For new teachers/students inbound to your school from a school that is not an MLTI school, create the user within the Collaboration User Admin module per the existing processes. Please see the MLTI Tech Lead Manual for the complete process.

For a teacher/student that is going to a non-MLTI school, delete the user in accordance with your own personnel management policies.

We hope you find this new functionality useful.

Thank you
