How do I transfer a laptop to another school?


Please make sure the laptop is clean and in good working condition. Login as the Administrator and reset the device to the current MLTI default admin password. This will allow the receiving school's Technical Lead to access the device immediately upon receipt.

Initiate a transfer of the laptop in the Asset Manager to the school you are sending the laptop to. Instructions can be found here.
Always send the laptop with a clean, useable bag (no broken zippers please), charger, duckhead, and extension cord.
If the laptop is not being hand delivered to its destination please use an MLTI-approved shipping box, which can be requested through the DepotWorks home page.
If you are shipping to a school that is more than 2-3 hours drive away, and you need shipping assistance, please email the MLTI Project Office with the name of your school and the name of the school you are shipping to. DOE has limited funds for providing shipping assistance, but we will do what we can to move the laptop as quickly as possible.
