Can I run Software Updates on the MLTI devices?
Updates to some of the software installed on the MLTI Image including the Mac OS operating system are posted in Studywiz to the 207 TC Collaboration and Resources group, in the “Downloads - Official MLTI Distribution” folder. These updates have been tested for stability against the default MLTI Image. Other applications included in the MLTI Image may have updates available from their manufacturer's web site and may be used with caution. Schools should complete stability and compatibility testing before wide-scale distribution of updaters not approved and provided by the Project team.
Using updates provided through the Mac OS X Software Update feature have not been tested and are not recommended. Using the Software Update feature may result in inconsistent behavior, instability or potentially render the device unusable. If the device becomes unusable, please dispatch the unit to the MLTI Local Depot to have the image restored. Note that all user data is lost when the image is restored. Please call the AppleCare Help Desk (1-800-919-2775 [4MLTI]) and follow normal dispatching procedures, as outlined in the MLTI Policy Manual and the MLTI Tech Lead Manual.
