In response to changing economic conditions and new program opportunities under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Maine Jobs Council has submitted a letter asking for an exension of the current Workforce State of Maine Strategic State Plan beyond June 30, 2009 and alerts the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration of intentions regarding program waivers and performance measures.

The letter seeks to amend performance measures for entered employment retention rates for WIA Adults, Dislocated Workers and Older Youth, and Wagner-Peyser outcomes for the Program Year beginning July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. It also requests an extension of a WIA Youth Program waiver that is currently in place and approval of three additional waivers relating to the Youth Summer Jobs Program.

A full copy of the request is listed below. For more information, contact Steve Duval.
