The Wilton CareerCenter recently added 25 new Pulp and Paper Production Labors to the apprenticeship program sponsored by Verso Paper Company in Jay Maine. This is in addition to the 21 apprentices that began the program in July. The Pulp and Paper Production Laborer program was developed for Verso Paper and is the first one in the nation for this occupation. Of the 25 new apprentices 7 are women. Many of the classes will take place at the worksite. All apprentices will receive an Associate of Science degree from KVCC upon completion of the courses.
