AUGUSTA – Rep. Patricia Sutherland, D-Chapman, joined Gov. John Baldacci and members of the Legislature’s Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs for a signing of LD 1049, An Act To Encourage Cooperation among School Administrative Units. Sutherland was the primary sponsor of the bill.
The bill will encourage school administrative units to form and join regional education cooperatives that would provide support services for various education programs and administrative functions.
The bill went into effect immediately upon being signed by Gov. Baldacci.
