March 12, 2009
AUGUSTA – Reps. Thom Watson, D-Bath, Peter Kent, D-Woolwich and Leila Percy, D-Phippsburg, welcomed Will Neilson, Esau Crosby and Tyne Sansom, representing the owners and staff of the Solo Bistro restaurant in Bath, to the State House on March 12 to receive a special legislative sentiment and recognition from the Maine House of Representatives.
Solo Bistro, the midcoast Maine restaurant located in historic downtown Bath, has earned Santé magazine's Innovative Culinary Hospitality Award. The only peer-judged restaurant and hospitality competition in North America, this award recognizes the highest level of cuisine, wine and service within the hospitality industry.
Solo Bistro opened in 2005 and is owned and operated by Neilson and his wife Pia. Crosby is head chef at Solo Bistro and Sansom is sous chef. The chefs made and served a chocolate hot water cake with chocolate ganache to share with the legislators.
