Jonathan Nass
Senior Policy Advisor
Jonathan Nass is Senior Policy Advisor to the LePage Administration. Nass will advise the Governor on government reform and oversight, education and cultural affairs, state and local government and transportation policy.
Prior to joining the Administration, Nass worked for seven and half years in the U.S. Congress, most recently, as Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Nass has worked as a litigator at a Washington, DC law firm and in the government services practice at Jensen Baird Gardner Henry in Portland, Maine. In 2008, he deployed to Iraq to serve on a Provincial Reconstruction Team as a field officer embedded in a U.S. Army infantry battalion operating in the city of Baqubah. While in Iraq, Nass also served as a rule of law advisor working with the Iraqi judiciary and the Diyala provincial council. In his most recent post, Nass was a senior legal advisor at Embassy Baghdad before returning to Maine in 2010.
Nass graduated from St. Lawrence University with his Bachelor of Arts and a double major in government and history.
Nass received his Juris Doctor from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law where he was a member of the law review.
