Senior Economic Advisor
John Butera is Senior Economic Advisor for Governor LePage's Administration. Butera advises on economic development and job creation issues. In addition, he has policy responsibilities for economic and community development, business finance, workforce development and labor issues.
Before joining the Governor's staff in January, 2011, John was Executive Director of the Central Maine Growth Council since 2002. Butera's nearly 25-year career in economic development includes positions with the Maine Department of Economic & Community Development, a site location consulting firm, and public-private economic development organizations.
John is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA and MA in Regional Science. He is President of the Northeast Economic Developers Association and a member of the Economic Development Council of Maine and the International Economic Development Council.
