Kathleen Newman

Deputy Chief of Staff

Kathleen Newman is Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director. In this capacity, Newman will be the primary liaison between the Legislature and Governor LePage's Administration, working with legislators to enact his key policy initiatives.

Before joining Governor LePage's team, Newman served as President and CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors of Maine, representing the construction industry before the Maine Legislature, Congress, and state and federal regulatory bodies. Prior to her work at ABC, Newman operated her own political consulting firm providing governmental and regulatory affairs services and political campaign management. She has served as Treasurer of Newman Concrete Services, Inc., located in Richmond, Maine. In addition, for several years, she served as Government Relations Coordinator for Central Maine Power Company, Maine's largest electric utility.

Newman is a native of Hallowell, Maine where she and her husband Doug Newman still reside.
