RE: Notice of Curtailment
Dear President Edmonds, Speaker Cummings and members of Leadership,
Please find attached a copy of the curtailment order identifying the specific allotments curtailed, the extent of curtailment of each allotment and the effect of each curtailment on the objects and purposes of the program so affected.
In addition to a temporary curtailment of allotments in the General Fund, I will be proposing a more comprehensive package of recommendations for the supplemental budget in the Second Regular Session of the 123rd Legislature. The supplemental budget proposal will adjust some of the individual curtailment items that otherwise would be necessary to balance the budget if no legislative action is taken, and will also provide a plan to bring the General Fund budget for FY09 back into balance.
Sincerely,
John Elias Baldacci
Governor
