An Order to Amend the Executive Order Establishing the Office of the State Coordinator for Health Information Technology and the Health Information Technology Executive Steering Committee

WHEREAS, effective coordination throughout state government and the private sector is important in implementing the goals of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act); and
WHEREAS, it is critical there be broad representation on the Health Information Technology Steering Committee (HITSC); and
WHEREAS, including a representative of Maine’s racial and ethnic minority communities and an individual with expertise in health policy or health law would provide important perspectives to the work implementing the HITECH Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, John E. Baldacci, Governor of the State of Maine, do hereby amend Executive Order 09 FY 10/11 as follows:
By amending the Health Information Technology Steering Committee Membership and Support section to include the following additional seats:
- An individual representing the State's racial and ethnic minority communities
- An individual with expertise in health law or health policy
In all other respects, the terms of Executive Order 10 FY 10/11 remain the same.
Effective Date
The effective date of this Executive Order is June 10, 2010
