Paul H. Sighinolfi, Esq.

Executive Director, Workers' Compensation Board

Paul H. Sighinolfi is a graduate of St. Anselm College, Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut and Columbus School of Law at Catholic University America. Paul was the head of the Rudman & Winchell workers’ compensation practice group. He coauthored Maine Employment Guide: Workers’ Compensation. He is a member of the board of editors and contributes to the Maine Business & Employment, a publication of Northern New Law Publishers.

In addition to his approximately 30 year law career, he was formerly a director on the Board’s of the Maine Chapter of Children’s International Summer Villages and the Bangor YMCA. He presently serves on the Board of the Ronald McDonald House of Maine.

In 1995, he was appointed by the Board of Overseers of the Bar to serve on the Board’s Grievance Commission. In 1997, he became a panel Chair and held that position until 2002 when he was precluded by term limits from further service.

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court appointed Paul to the Board of Bar Overseers in November of 2002. While on the Board he served as the Vice Chair and was appointed Chair of the Board of Bar Overseers by the Supreme Judicial Court on November 1, 2007. In 2010 the Maine Supreme Judicial Court appointed Paul to the Fund for Client Protection. He is presently the Chair of the Fund.

In February 2011, Governor Paul LePage nominated Paul for the position of Executive Director & Chair of the Maine Workers’ Compensation Board. He was unanimously recommended for confirmation by the Joint Standing Committee on Labor, Commerce, Research, and Economic Development. He was unanimously confirmed by the Maine Senate and sworn in by the Governor on March 1, 2011.

Paul is a resident of Brewer, Maine where he lives with his wife, Vickie Sidou, M.D.
