Governor Mourns Death of John Jalbert Jr.

AUGUSTA – Governor John E. Baldacci today learned of the death of former State Representative John B. Jalbert Jr. Jalbert represented the town of Lisbon.
“I enjoyed serving with John Jalbert in the Legislature,” said Governor Baldacci. “He was a great storyteller, and he served the people of his community well. He dedicated a great deal of his life to public service. Our deepest sympathies go out to John’s family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Jalbert have been set for Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.
In honor of John Jalbert’s many years of service to his town, State and nation, the Governor is directing that the United States and State of Maine flags in the Town of Lisbon be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.
