Sarah Mildred Long Bridge is Closed

Kittery – The Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in Kittery is closed to all traffic. At approximately 1:30 p.m. a tanker struck the bridge, forcing officials from New Hampshire DOT to close the bridge to traffic.

Officials will inspect, repair any damage and then test the bridge prior to opening back up to motorists.

It is anticipated the bridge will NOT be open for today's afternoon/evening commute.

Crews from MaineDOT will assist NHDOT with all necessary procedures.
