Veterans Memorial Bridge Closed Thursday Night
SOUTH PORTLAND – Due to construction of the new Veterans Memorial Bridge, the existing Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 to 6 a.m. the next day. This necessary closure will allow construction crews to safely install drainage pipe across the existing bridge.
Detour signs will be posted to alert drivers of alternate routes. Please plan ahead and allow more time to get to your destination. MaineDOT regrets any inconvenience caused by this necessary closure.
Construction of the new bridge is on schedule and expected to open to traffic this summer, with the removal of the old bridge to be completed by the end of this year.
