College Planning October 15th, from 10 am to 12 noon and 12 noon to 3 pm. November 12th, from 10 am to 12 noon and 12 noon to 3 pm. and December (date TBD)from 10 am to 12 noon and 12 noon to 3 pm.
Description
The Essentials of College Planning will survey the basic steps for successful college enrollment. The session will discuss college & trade school options in our region, entrance requirements, admission procedures and financial aid. Participants should be encouraged to bring their 2008 1040 tax form ( or income estimates for 2008, such as last pay stubs) and any high school/GED and college transcripts they have available.
The Financial Aid Workshop will provide an overview of financial aid basics and the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and FAFSA renewal forms. An emphasis will be placed on student responsibility and an understanding of the full financial process and timetable.Participants should be encouraged to bring their 2008 1040 tax form ( or income estimates for 2008, such as last pay stubs). Participants should be current college students or prospective college students who have attended an earlier Essentials of College Planning Workshop with MEOC.
What must I bring? *Your 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ or Telefile tax forms for 2008, if you filed taxes. *Your (and spouse's, if applicable) W-2's from all jobs held in 2008. *"Other" income information from 2008, if applicable. This includes TANF/ASPIRE Social Security, disability, child support, and unemployment income. *Your high school/GED and college transcripts, if available. *Questions and Concerns!!
