Due to the weather, a quorum was not present at this month’s InforME Board meeting. Therefore most of the agenda has been postponed until next month’s meeting. The attending members did provide input on the State of Maine homepage design prototypes.
Chairman Gwadosky was able to present the new Secretary of State’s web site, which went live this month. Comments from the Board were that the site is easy to navigate, the search engine is effective, and overall the new site is impressive and easy to use.
The InforME design team presented to the Board three design concepts for the new State of Maine web site. The Board was able to offer constructive feedback, and helped pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of all three designs. In addition, there was discussion on the issue of branding, with the final agreement from all present that the InforME goal should be to brand the State of Maine, and not InforME. InforME will continue to maintain a web site specifically for InforME, its services, Board issues, subscription form, etc. This InforME “area” will be linked from the home page and will be prominently displayed on the front page of the State of Maine site.
The next Board meeting will
beMonday, February 14th at 1:00 p.m. in the conference room at the
Nash School Building in Augusta.
