·    30 min. Introduction by David Scobey

- Celebrate participants’ work

- Rationale for doing this work (value) Civic Mission K-12

·    30 min. Group exercise on civic learning, Stacy:

1.      group brainstorm of skills, actions, knowledge and values of citizenship

2.      Battistoni exercise on what is citizenship (fill out individually, then go to stations on the walls for discussion connecting to civic learning outcomes)

·    30 min. Barbara Gallery Walk

1.      First people look at their own level (higher ed looks at higher ed and K-12 looks at K-12) and identify the civic learning outcomes and put up stickies with additions.

·    Break

·    20 min. Introduction by Patrick Phillips

- Describes state and national movement

- K-12 and HE have similar objectives but different developmental strategies

- Contextualizes work in the Civic Mission of Schools and the state CETF

- Shows web site designed by youth voice subcommittee

- Complements submitters of exemplars for being cutting edge practitioners

- Segue to policy discussions

·    12:15  - 45 min.Kathy Hunt introduces Ira Harkavy,  whose job is to segue from policy to partnerships.  Describes categories of different types of K-16 partnerships and provide examples.  Be explicit about civic learning outcomes for both K-12 and higher ed partners.

Afternoon: 1:00

·    Closing Open Space & Virtual Wrap up – Holly

David (civic learning), Patrick (Policy), and Ira (Partnerships) give 2 minute spiels about their break out topic, people go to separate rooms where they: 1) generate questions, 2) have a process for people to talk, 3) people take notes, 4) each person writes down 2 things they’ll do as a result of the day.
