1. Structure of Campus Forums on Citizenship Education |
· We decided to have two campus discussions in the fall, leading to a spring ITV statewide conference. · Use American Democracy Project materials · Campus Forums would last three hours · Patrick or Jim would convene · Campuses would conduct an audit prior to the Forums · Potential discussion questions would be pulled together from the ADP stuff to campuses to choose from · Campuses would need at least 20 participants in order to host a Forum |

One page application to include the following: · Why is it important for the campus to host a Forum? · Who will participate (target audience and administrators) · Who is the coordinator? · When would it be beneficial to happen? · Signatures of coordinator and VP or Pres · Possibly include some examples |

3. Cover Letter for Application |
Would include the following: · Reasons for hosting a forum (asset mapping (audit), way to convene a conversation about civic engagement, tool for accreditation and gen ed reform, connectivity to statewide network) · Higher ed definition of citizenship education · Reference to toolkits on line · Some examples of questions campuses can choose to focus on (co-curriculum, climate, curriculum) · Description of selection process |
