1-1:15 pm        1) Updates from CETF and Steering Committee:

a.       Youth voice

b.      Website development

c.       Awards program changes

d.      Strategic partnership with Mitchell Institute, and

e.       Summer conferences.         

 

1:15- 2:15        2) Presentations and discussion of a Comprehensive Model of K-12 Citizenship Education:

a.       Presentation by Lora Downing on William Daggett’s 30 model schools.

b.      Presentation by Connie Manter on Promising Futures, Great Maine Schools and CSRD initiatives.

c.       Presentation by Stacy Smith on Sheldon Berman’s K-12 district- wide approach in Hudson, MA.

d.       Discuss what we mean by a “comprehensive model” and approaches for assessing and implementing such a model.

2:30-3:30         3) Review and decide on criteria and template for collection/dissemination of Best Practices in citizenship education.

 

3:30-4:00         4) Discuss and assign tasks for future meetings; set meeting dates.
