JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is professional services work of a supervisory nature involving the coordination, supervision, and administration of program services to adults with mental retardation or children with behavioral and developmental needs and their families in a region of the State.  Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and evaluating regional program needs and services; overseeing quality assurance for service delivery; participating in the development and negotiation of regional contracts; providing technical assistance and guidance to municipalities, community organizations, and providers; and developing, recommending, and implementing program policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.  Supervision is exercised over professional and clerical employees.  Work is performed under administrative direction.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood, Social Work, Psychology or a related field and four (4) years professional experience in the field of mental retardation, childhood developmental disabilities, or a related human services field.  A Master’s Degree may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.  Directly related professional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
