Recount Resumes for Senate District 16
Candidates agree to return and attempt to resolve disputed ballots

AUGUSTA--The recount resulting from the November General Election for Senate District 16 will resume under the supervision of the Secretary of State's Office on Monday, November 25th at 2 p.m. at the State Police garage on Hospital Street in Augusta.

The results from the recount agreed to by the candidates through their respective counsel show a 9-vote margin separates Christopher G. L. Hall (D) of Bristol and Leslie T. Fossel (R) of Alna. The recount determined that 8,893 ballots were cast for Hall and 8,884 ballots were cast for Fossel. At issue are 63 ballots remaining in dispute at the conclusion of the recount and an additional 4 ballots that were challenged on Election Day.
