Secretary Gwadosky to Conduct Lottery to Determine Length of Terms for New Ethics Commission Members

Secretary of State Dan A. Gwadosky will supervise a random lot drawing to determine the length of the terms for the 4 new members of the Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices.

The four new commission members are James Donnelly of Brewer, Alan Harding of Presque Isle, Andrew Ketterer of Madison, and David Ott of York. A fifth member of the commission, to fill the unenrolled position on the commission, will be nominated by the Governor and confirmed by the Maine Senate.

As set forth in Maine law, two of the new members will be appointed for 1-year terms, two are appointed for 2-year terms and one is appointed for a 3-year term. Subsequent appointees will be appointed to serve 3-year terms. A person may not serve more than 2 terms.
