Secretary Gwadosky to Visit Polling Sites Election Day
Augusta--On November 5th Secretary of State Dan A. Gwadosky will continue his Election Day tradition of visiting a number of polling places to thank election workers for their dedication in conducting Maine's elections. Secretary Gwadosky will personally thank election workers throughout the day at 15 polling places across the state. He will also be supporting the Promote the Vote activities sponsored by his office.
"I look forward to visiting the polling places on Election Day," stated Secretary Gwadosky. "It provides me with an opportunity to meet with and thank the local election officials for their dedication in conducting Maine's elections."
One of the activities sponsored by the Promote the Vote Committee organized by Secretary Gwadosky is the "I Voted Today !" stickers that will be distributed on a voluntary basis by many municipalities at their polling places. The Maine Rotary Clubs of District 7790 have been very supportive of this program and have provided a generous contribution to help defray some of the cost of the stickers. Rotarians may also be assisting in the distribution of the stickers at some locations. The stickers are provided to voters so that when they return to their work, home, school or neighborhood wearing the stickers, they will inspire and remind others to go to the polls.
Secretary Gwadosky is scheduled to visit the following municipalities:
