CHAPTER 1: Rules and Regulations for Physicians
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A. §3269(7) (10), §3280
PURPOSE: Chapter 1 will be amended to make technical revisions.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Begin Fall 2005.
AFFECTED PARTIES: Any person applying for or renewing medical licensure as well as citizens seeking medical services will be affected.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 2: Physician Assistants
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A. §§ 3269(7) and 3270-A, B & C
PURPOSE: Chapter 2 will be amended to make technical revisions.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 3: Physician Supervision of Physician Extenders
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A. §3271
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Begin Fall 2005.
PURPOSE: Chapter 3 will be amended to make technical revisions.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 10: Sexual Misconduct
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: Title 32 M.R.S.A. §§ 3269 (7) and 3270-A, B, C and 2562, 2594-C.3
PURPOSE: Possible changes based on ethical studies.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 11: Use of Controlled Substances for Treatment of Pain
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: Title 32 M.R.S.A. §§ 2562 and 3269(3)7)
PURPOSE: Anticipated changes to comply with clinical practice.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 20: Medical Liability Demonstration Project (“The Project”): Anesthesiology Specialty Practice Parameters and Risk Management Protocols.
PURPOSE: Chapter 20 is being repealed and not replaced because the enabling statutes underlying the rule were repealed by Laws 1999, Chapter 668.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 22: Medical Liability Demonstration Project (“The Project”): Emergency Medicine Specialty Practice Parameters and Risk Management Protocols.
PURPOSE: Chapter 22 is being repealed and not replaced because the enabling statutes underlying the rule were repealed by Laws 1999, Chapter 668.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 24: Medical Liability Demonstration Project (“The Project”): Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialty Practice Parameters and Risk Management Protocols.
PURPOSE: Chapter 24 is being repealed and not replaced because the enabling statutes underlying the rule were repealed by Laws 1999, Chapter 668.

CHAPTER 26: Medical Liability Demonstration Project (“The Project”): Radiology Specialty Practice Parameters and Risk Management Protocols.
PURPOSE: Chapter 26 is being repealed and not replaced because the enabling statutes underlying the rule were repealed by Laws 1999, Chapter 668.
