EXPECTED 2005-2006 RULE MAKING ACTIVITY:

CHAPTER 1: Rules of the Atlantic Salmon Commission
The Atlantic Salmon Commission anticipates a limited reopening of recreational Atlantic salmon fishing on a section of the Penobscot River in Eddington and Veazie.
TITLE: Title 12, Chapter 811
STATUTORY BASIS: 9902 The Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission has the sole authority to limit or prohibit the taking or catching of Atlantic Salmon
PURPOSE: Purpose of this rule is to re-open a limited recreational fishery for Atlantic Salmon. The purpose of any proposed regulation regarding fish and wildlife is to provide for the fullest level of use of the resource without adversely affecting species distribution and abundance. This fishery will benefit the local area economy.

* General public - residents and non-residents
* Recreational fishing public
* Local businesses that cater to the fishing public such as tackle shops and non-direct retail such as others offering meals and lodging
* Local salmon clubs
* Sportsmen's organizations
