EXPECTED 2005-2006 RULE-MAKING ACTIVITY:

CHAPTER 1: General Provisions
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 MRSA, Ch. 19
This chapter will be amended with all reference in the rule to: “registration” or similar phrase changed to “license: and its equivalent as required by LD 1548 which changed the name of the Board from “Registration” to “Licensure”. This bill was passed and signed by the Governor. Also other word changes such as Secretary to Executive Director, Chairperson to Chair and Vice Chairperson to Vice Chair. In addition the seal of the Board will be reduced in size.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Rule change is being developed and expected to be completed before March 31, 2006.
AFFECTED PARTIES: Professional Engineers registered by this Board.
CONSENSUS BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not contemplated

CHAPTER 2: Registration of Professional Engineers
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 MRSA Ch. 19
PURPOSE: This chapter contains provisions related to registration requirements and exemptions for Engineers and Engineer-Interns, fees and examinations. This chapter will be amended by all reference as stated in Chapter 1 and remove an expired minimum requirement for applicants, (section 5 – (1) (C).
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Rule change being developed and expected to be completed before March 31, 2006.
AFFECTED PARTIES: Professional Engineers registered by this Board.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not Contemplated.
