CHAPTER
2: Advisory Rulings
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 5 M.R.S.A., §9001(4) and 32 M.R.S.A., §2274(2)
PURPOSE: This Chapter provides for the issuance of advisory rulings
by the Board.

CHAPTER
3: Rules for the Licensure of Occupational Therapy Practice
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: Statutory Authority: 32 M.R.S.A., §2274(2),
2278, 2279, and 2284
PURPOSE: This Chapter contains the requirements and procedures governing
the issuance of permanent and temporary licenses for the practice of
occupational therapy.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Summer 2004.
AFFECTED PARTIES: Licensees and Consumers.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not expected.
CHAPTER
4: Fees
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 10 MRSA §8003(2-A)(D)
PURPOSE: This Chapter lists license fees charged by the Board. This
chapter may be repealed in the event that OLR establishes fees for this
board directly pursuant to 10 MRSA §8003(2-A)(D) and Chapter 10
of the rules of the Office of Licensing and Registration.

CHAPTER
5: Role of the Occupational Therapy Assistant and Supervision of
Occupational Therapy Assistants and Temporary Occupational Therapists
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A., §§2272(12) and
2274(2)
PURPOSE: This Chapter describes the permissible duties of the Occupational
Therapy Assistants and the duties of Occupational Therapists in the
supervision of their Assistants.

CHAPTER
6: Renewal Requirements and Continuing Education
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A., §§2274(2) and 2283(3)
PURPOSE: This Chapter outlines the requirements for license renewal
and for continuing professional education, establishes the hours of
continuing education needed for renewal, defines the different categories
of continuing education activities which will be accepted, and explains
the approval process.

CHAPTER
7: Code of Ethics
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A., §§2274(2)
PURPOSE: This Chapter sets forth the rules regarding the code of ethics
for licensed Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants,
by adopting the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics published by the
American Occupational Therapy Association.

CHAPTER
8: Enforcement and Disciplinary Procedures

investigations are handled by the board.
