RULES ADOPTED SINCE THE LAST REGULATORY AGENDA: None
EXPECTED
2002-2003 RULE-MAKING ACTIVITY: The Board may amend the licensing
and certification requirements and procedures for chiropractors, assistants,
and temporary certificates. Amendments to these requirements may require
amendments to other rules, which will be reviewed and updated as may
be necessary. Outdated or duplicative rules that may exist in rules
established by the Office of Licensing and Registration as authorized
by 10 M.R.S.A. §8003 will be repealed.

1: Definitions
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A. §502
PURPOSE: Defines terms used throughout the Board's rules.

CHAPTER
3: Licensure Requirement for Chiropractic Doctors
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A. §§502, 551, and 552
PURPOSE: Establishes requirements for issuance of a license to practice
chiropractic, including application, education, experience, and references.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Within 180 days
AFFECTED PARTIES: Licensees
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not Contemplated
CHAPTER
5: Certification Requirement for Chiropractic Assistants and the
Issuance of Temporary Certificates for Chiropractic Assistants
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A. §§502, 555, and 556
PURPOSE: Establishes requirements for issuance of a certificate to function
as a certified chiropractic assistant, and the issuance of a temporary
certificate to function as a certified chiropractic assistant.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Within 180 days

6: Continuing Professional Education

PURPOSE: Establishes requirements for continuing professional education
to be completed by licensees for licensing renewal.

8: Code of Ethics

PURPOSE: Establishes standards of professional practice in the practice
of chiropractic services.

CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not Contemplated
CHAPTER
9: Fees
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A. §§502, 553-A, and 558
PURPOSE: Establishes fees to be charged for applications and licenses
issued by the Board. The Board may repeal this rule in the event that
fees for this program are established directly by the Office of Licensing
and Registration pursuant to 10 M.R.S.A. §8003(2-A)(D).
