PURPOSE: Rules may be amended to reflect changes in the law related to farm wineries and small breweries and restrictions related to certificate holders and wholesalers marketing practices.

CHAPTER 11-15: Rules relating to agency liquor stores.

PURPOSE: Rules may be amended to clarify licensing procedures, pricing policy, advertising, merchandising policy and requirements relating to agents who sell to licensees.

EXPECTED 1999-2000 RULE-MAKING ACTIVITY:
There are no amendments or modifications planned to existing Academy rules.

NEW RULE: Rules Governing the Permissible Duties of Part-Time Law Enforcement Officers
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 25 MRSA Section 2803-A
PURPOSE: These rules will identify and establish the permissible duties of part-time law enforcement officers who have completed preservice training requirements under the Mandatory Training Act. The rules will set up a multi-tiered system of law enforcement duties, responsibilities, and authority based upon the officerūs training, field experience and years of service.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: December 31, 2001
AFFECTED PARTIES: All law enforcement officers in the State of Maine who have completed mandatory preservice training requirements established under 25 M.R.S.A Section 2803-B and have not been certified as having completed the basic training course approved by the Board of Directors of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, unless by statute exempted from compliance with the preservice training requirements of the Mandatory Training Act.
