Restoration Eligibility with Ignition Interlock DeviceThe Secretary of State may reinstate the driving privileges of a person convicted of a second or subsequent alcohol related offense (occurring after August 31, 2008) if that person satisfies all other conditions for license reinstatement and installs an approved ignition interlock device. Installation of the device is voluntary for a second or third offense.
A person who qualifies for restoration with an ignition interlock device must file a petition with the Secretary of State.
