Motor Vehicle Dealers

The function of the Dealer Section is to maintain the records of licensed dealers in the state and the plates issued pertaining to those licenses. This unit provides information on what the requirements are to obtain a dealer's license along with all laws, rules and regulations to maintain the license. Dealer licenses expire on the last day of the month one year from issuance.

Municipal Agent Information

This department provides municipalities with the training and monitoring of municipal agents in the registration of motor vehicles.  Our work includes training town representatives to act as agents of the Secretary of State, conducting workshops and refresher training programs, writing procedure manuals, and conducting on-site reviews. We provide ongoing training including annual fall workshops and offer phone support to all municipalities with any issues related to motor vehicle transactions.
