Dear Sir

I wish to know on the part of the vast number of the military of Portland who propose to form an escort for the First Regt when they arrive home whether we can borrow from the Arsenal a sufficient number of those Old Muskets to use on that occasion. If you wish it the Citz Govt will be responsible for their safe return.

Please answer immediately as they will probably be here this week.
