SALES & USE TAX OVERVIEW
8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The sales & use tax symposium has been developed with a concentration on the retailer. During this session one will learn about registration requirements, definitions of key terms, what amounts may be excluded from the sale price, what is exempt from sales tax and what services are subject to sales tax. Also one will learn about who is responsible for use tax, how to report use tax, what items are subject to use tax, how to file a return manually and electronically, and how to maintain proper recordkeeping and documentation.
P.M. AGENDA
RECENT CHANGES IN SALES Tax LAW
1:00 p . m . 4:00 p . m .
During this session one will learn about the Resale Certificate, the Retailer certificate, and the Service Provider Tax. Also during the afternoon session, a complete overview will be provided summarizing recently enacted legislation.
If you are faced with making daily decisions on whether or not sales tax applies to certain transactions
-or-
If you often question why an item or organization is taxable or exempt
-or-
If you question whether or not you are completing the sales tax return correctly
-or-
If your exempt sales are not properly documented
then this symposium is for you!
Although designed for retailers, this presentation would benefit accountants, lawyers and tax return preparers as well. Each participant will receive a specially prepared updated reference guide that brings the law, Bureau determinations and informative points together in one publication.
