Maine State Parks
Search the Parks and Lands database for beaches. Accessibility information is available for many locations.
Acadia National Park
Acadia National Park's website provides accessibility information about the park's information centers, campgrounds, trails, carriage roads and carriages, ranger-led programs, museums, boat cruises, restaurants, gift shops and public transportation. The Golden Access Passport, free to U.S. citizens with disabilities, provides entrance and half-price camping at most national parks, monuments, and federal recreation areas.

Other Public Beaches

The following public beaches have been reported to have wheelchair accessible elements:

  • Higgins Beach, Scarborough (salt water); parking, boardwalk to beach, beach surface adaptation.
  • Hurd Park at Pine Point, Scarborough (salt water); parking, restrooms, outdoor shower, picnic tables, concessions, boardwalk to beach surface.
  • Kettle Cove, Cape Elizabeth (salt water); ramp access to high water line.
  • Crescent Beach, Cape Elizabeth (salt water); boardwalk to beach, beach surface adaptation.
