Minutes of November 14, 2007 Board Meeting

 

CALL TO ORDER

Chair Spahn called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m.

OLD BUSINESS

Review and approval of the minutes of September 20, 2007
In a motion by Gilmore, seconded by Pesut, to accept the minutes of September 20, 2007, as presented.  Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

Complaint Officer’s Report

2007 VET 3849 Initial Presentation

In a motion by Benson, seconded by Gilmore, to dismiss 2007 VET 3849 on the basis of no violation of Board’s Laws and Rules.  Motion carried, Complaint Officer recused.

 

2006 VET 3056 Update

In a motion by Beever, seconded Gilmore, to contact Dr. Ring regarding the records that were submitted and review the Board’s Rules requirements.  The records that were submitted are inadequate and do not meet the requirements of the Board’s Rules.  Motion carried.

 

Correspondence

E-correspondence of October 10, 2007, Bill Bell, Maine Veterinary Medical Association, regarding records retention

The Board does not have jurisdiction over medical records retention. 

 

E-correspondence of October 22, 2007, Bill Bell, Maine Veterinary Medical Association, regarding doctor-client relationship

The Board does not have jurisdiction over a doctor–client relationship.

 

Domestic Violence Training

Linda Jariz and Gretchen Ziemer presented “Domestic Abuse” to the Board on behalf of the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence.

 

Election of Officers

In a motion by Gilmore, seconded by Benson, to nominate and elect the current officers.  Motion carried.

 

Program Administrator’s Report

No report at this time.

 

ADJOURN

There being no further business, Spelke motion to adjourn at 11:56 a.m. seconded by Gilmore.  Motion carried.
