Special Permit Nuclear Medicine Trainee

A "Special Permit Nuclear Medicine Trainee" is defined as a licensed radiographer who has otherwise complied with all of the requirements to become a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and is preparing to take the examination in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

How to apply

Fees
  • Application Fee of $50
  • License Fee of $75
  • Criminal History Records Check Fee of $21

Term
  • The permit shall be granted once per applicant, for a period not to exceed one year. The applicant will be required to take the next scheduled exam. The license will stay in effect until the results of the exam are known. Pending successful completion of the State examination, the trainee must be under the direct supervision of a licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Requirements

If applying for a Special Permit in Nuclear Medicine, please submit the following:

  • Completed and signed application;
  • Submit a current copy of your ARRT wallet card;
  • NPDB/HIPDB Self-query report(s);
  • Submit a letter from your chief technologist that states the need to issue a special permit to you and recruitment documentation. This documentation shall be copies of newspaper advertisements and/or explanation of recruitment problems; and
  • Submit a letter from the Nuclear Medicine Technologist stating that you will be under his/her direct supervision while holding a Special Permit as a Nuclear Medicine Trainee.
