The application, along with all supporting documents and fees, must be submitted to the Board at least 10 days prior to the Board meeting at which you wish to have your application reviewed. Before full licensure may be granted, applicants must present themselves for and successfully pass an oral examination at a regular meeting of the Board.

Examination

The Board has adopted the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners' Part III examination as its standard examination for licensure qualification. The examination will be offered in Maine in June and December of each year. The examination fee is $900.

An application shall include:

• A completed application form;
• Official transcript of Pre-Podiatric education;
• Copy of podiatric degree;
• Official documentation of passing scores on Parts I and II of the National Boards;
• Copy of applicant's CPR certification; and
• NPDB/HIPDB Self-query report(s).

• Renewal Fee of $450

• A late fee of $50 is assessed for licenses renewed after the June 30 license expiration date.
• Renewal reminders are mailed approximately 60 days prior to the license expiration date.
• A late fee of $50 is assessed for licenses renewed 91 days to 2 years after the license expiration date.
• A person who submits an application for renewal more than 60 days after the license expiration date is subject to all requirements governing new applicants and is required to reapply with an original license application, documentation and fees.
• Renewal applications are mailed approximately 60 days prior to the license expiration date.
• Continuing Education - 25 hours of continuing education is due at the time of renewal in the odd-numbered years pursuant to board rules.
