Inactive Senior Pharmacist

Inactive senior pharmacist means a pharmacist age 65 or over who is not currently practicing pharmacy in the state of Maine.

If an active pharmacist wants to change their license to inactive status, a request must be submitted, in writing, to the Board. During the time that a pharmacist is on inactive status, no continuing is required for renewal. If a pharmacist wants to reactivate their license, a request must be submitted, in writing to the Board along with 15 hours of continuing action obtained during the previous calendar year

  • Annual renewal fee is $15.00.

  • This license currently renews annually on December 31. All licenses issued will expire on December 31.
Requirements
  • A late fee of $50.00 is assessed for licenses renewed after the license expiration date.
  • If any person fails or neglects to procure the annual nonnative renewal registration, notice of that failure having been mailed to that person's last known address by the board, after the expiration of 30 days following the issue of notice, that person's original registration shall expire. That person, in order to regain registration, shall be required to pay one renewal fee in addition to the sum of all fees that person may be in arrears.
  • Renewal reminders are mailed 60 days prior to the license expiration date. It is the licensee's responsibility to keep the Board informed of the current license address and/or to see that the license is renewed absent the renewal application.

  • Fill out the online renewal application and submit.

    The Department must verify that you have met all the conditions for renewal before your license is renewed. Online submission of your renewal application should not be construed as automatic renewal of your license.
