Do I need to take an exam?

Yes. You must be approved by the Board prior to registering for the SAF exam. Click HERE for exam information.

Do I need to complete continuing education?

You must complete 12 hours of continuing education before renewing your license on even-numbered years. You may complete these hours during the two years prior to the even-numbered year renewal. (for example: the twelve hours required for renewal on December 31, 2012 must be completed between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012).

Please Note: You do not need to complete continuing education for your first even year renewal if you passed the SAF exam during the two years prior to the even-numbered year renewal date.

Is my application confidential?

No. With the exception of Social Security Number, all application information is public. Contact information provided to the Board is posted on our website.
